Barcombe Bowling Club and Short Mat Bowls
Formed in 1951, we are a small, friendly club with an outdoor green sited by the Sports Pavilion. Our season runs from April to September; matches are at least twice weekly (starting at 2.30pm) and there is a Club Competition. The green was re-laid in recent years and is in excellent condition. All are welcome, and we look forward to meeting prospective new members!
Short Mat Bowls
Short Mat bowls is played indoors. The season runs from September to March, and in Barcombe's case the clubs are separate — although individuals belong to both. We meet on Thursday evenings in the Sports Hall, with matches starting at 7.30pm. There are some pre-season practice games and, depending on the venue and numbers, practice is possible alongside a match. The Club is now in the Wealden League and as a result, we play a minimum of 20 matches each year. Our season finishes with the Club's singles and doubles knockout Championship.
